img 1365

As the famine in Somalia worsens and we move quickly into the epidemic season HIJRA along with partners OXFAM and WHO has worked to expand programs in Mogadishu and Lower Shabelle through the implementation of WASH, Livelihoods and Health Activities.

In the past three months HIJRA has

  • Worked to construct and assist 2 Mother and Child Healthcare Clinics (MCH) and form 3 mobile outreach teams to ensure the provision of lifesaving emergency healthcare to over 160,000 IDPs
  • Implemented cash relief programs for over 9345 households in Mogadishu
  • Constructed 3 Water Platforms, 89 distribution points and trained 300 WES committees.

HIJRA is currently one of the largest humanitarian organizations on the ground in Mogadishu and Lower Shabelle, working to address the immediate needs of over 350,000 famine-affected people in Somalia. Our teams work to support 287,000 with water and sanitation, 12,000 in livelihoods and 160,000 in Health.

HIJRA has been supporting humanitarian programs in Somalia since its foundation in 1992.
