I Am Proud to Serve my Community – Staff in the Badbaado Health Clinic

IMG 0768“We take great care in the clinic to help our pregnant and lactating mothers. Mako Ali is one such beneficiary who recently traveled, walking over 30 minutes while 8 months pregnant, to access our free services. Mako like many others was willing to make the journey for treatment as her husband, a casual laborer, could not afford to cover the fees at the privately owned institutions.- Abba Yusuf – HIJRA Badbaado Clinic qualified nurse

“It was not easy to walk to the clinic as my stomach pains me often but I knew once I reached here they would treat me well as they truly are my brothers and sisters.” – Mako AliIMG 0751

“The HIJRA clinic is open to all, host and displaced communities, seeing more then 30 mothers and pregnant women cross our threshold daily. For us this is truly a blessing, as we know still too many do not seek services and often die of preventable disease. I am very proud to work for the clinic and know that I am making a difference in my community.” - Abba Yusuf

The OPD/MCH clinic has been open since July 2011 and currently works to provide free of charge, 24 hour, seven day a week services to its beneficiaries.
